Frequently Asked Questions

Clients can access virtual therapy from anywhere in Ontario via a video telehealth platform or by telephone. We ask that clients be in a private space that they are comfortable in so that there are no interruptions and so that your therapist can ensure confidentiality.

How does virtual therapy work?

Yes! We accept all major insurance companies with plans that cover Social Work, mental health counselling or psychotherapy. Clients will pay Crossroads Psychotherapy directly and your therapist will provide you with a receipt to submit for reimbursement to your insurance provider.

Do you accept insurance?

Individual sessions are $140 and Relationship and Family sessions are $180. Each session is 50-60 minutes and can be prorated to shorter or longer session times to meet your needs. We also offer Sliding Scale for folks without insurance coverage. Contact us for more information about our low-cost therapy program.

Can I pick which therapist I want to work with?

Yes! You can choose which therapist you want to work with and can have free consultations with as many therapists as you’d like! Check out Our Team to learn more about each therapist and then schedule a consultation that works with your availability on our booking page. If you’re unsure who the best therapist would be, schedule a consultation with our Clinical Director, Chriselle, who will help you decide!

How do I know what type of therapy is right for me?

At Crossroads Psychotherapy, we strive to ensure that you have the best client-clinician fit by offering free consultations with the therapists of your choosing. We encourage you to speak to as many therapists as you’d like after reviewing their bios and getting an idea of their qualifications, experience and personality. Each therapist will share information about their background and the types of therapy that they use during the free consultation so that you can decide what approach is right for you.

What are the therapists’ qualifications?

All our therapists at Crossroads Psychotherapy are Registered Social Workers and are regulated through the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). We have all been extensively educated in Social Work and have a wide range of professional experience providing counselling and mental health support to different demographics.
